I was hiking after work the other day and there was a couple in front of me. I could tell they were leisurely enjoying their walk, in deep conversation, with their dog a safe distance behind them. They stepped aside for me to pass and said, "We’re just strolling and can tell you’re on a mission!"
They were right...but was was my mission? It was to get out in nature and relax, which is why I came to the trail. But thanks to the couple I realized I wasn't in nature, I was in my head...and I was rushing Relaxation!
Life is busy. We’re taught to hustle, multi-task, and it still feels there's not enough time to get it all done. Our energy gets scattered, and even Relaxation feels rushed.
You must Give yourself permission to Stroll. Be in the present, without rushing. Focus your energy on your Mission, and Allow it to lead you, despite the distractions. Time will open up, because what you give your Energy to will grow.
So next time I’ll stroll. Enjoy nature, pet the dog, and breathe in the moment, without rushing.
